Nick Kirsch

Mr. Roboto

trudges north, thanks to newly intialized variables – story at 11. Can’t talk, too busy doing http://icfpcontest.cse.ogi.edu/. Would stop in a heartbeat for my prodigious Eriko. ;P

Fasting

Well, I have been fasting for the last two days. Tomorrow morning, I will finally eat! I am excited, to say the least. I will be having raisin bran and some eggs. Whew. Why do I fast? It is an excercise, a reminder, a change. Tomorrow, Alex and I will participate in a programming contest. So I need my energy. ;P

The Bear and The Dragon

This is my second attempt at reading this book. For some reason, be it position or disposition, I was unable to really get into the novel the first time. This time, however, I am quite interested. In addition, where I typically assume the meaning of a word from context, I am working on my vocabulary and therefore looking up every unknown word in a dictionary. Fun! But not as fun as dancing with my fantastic Eriko.

Back Online!

Whew. That was a close call. I had received some comments requesting that more private portions of my diary were “hidden” from view. I complied by adding an X-Confidential flag to the individual diary entries (email messages, of course) and updating this diary page so as to exclude those messages. Isn’t software cool?

Eriko got a job!

Not that she has been unemployed, but she does not enjoy her current job. Her new one will provide her with substantially more income, as well as a chance to use her English skills. She told me “in a couple of months I can pay off my debt and be your wife.” Yippeee! Of course, I am her patient man, so a couple months or a couple of years, I am yours, Eriko.

We Were Soldiers

What an excellent movie. It was a little cheesy at parts, a little too much hollywood in others – but yours truely had tears streaming down quite a bit. I miss my magnificent Eriko.
