Twenty-Three Years of Blogging: A Visual History

I recently took a look through my blog and was brought back in time. I’ve been writing here since 2002 - that’s 23 years of documenting my life, thoughts, and journey.

The Numbers

1,058 posts spanning from 2002 to 2025.

Here’s how my writing frequency has changed over the years:

Posts per year from 2002-2025

Eras of Writing

Looking at this data, I can see three distinct phases:

The Prolific Years (2002-2005): 734 posts in just four years. I was in my early twenties, navigating career beginnings, moving to Seattle, meeting Eriko, and documenting everything. Writing was how I processed the world.

The Gradual Decline (2006-2011): From 78 posts in 2006 down to just 4 in 2011. Life got busier - marriage, kids, career advancement. The time I once spent writing got redistributed to other priorities.

The Quiet Years (2012-2024): Averaging about 6 posts per year. Social media, work demands, and family life took over. When I did write, it was more reflective and intentional.
