Certain thoughts are prayers. There are moments when, whatever the attitude of the body, the soul is on its knees.
—Victor Hugo

I consider myself another soul searching to find his own place in this crazy world. All I ever do is try to find a balance between what I want to do and what others want me to -- the constant need to survive, to earn a living, to make some worth out of my existence. I didn't come of age by myself. Every single soul I ever touched with my skin or my heart has defined and molded me in ways I can't ever imagine. It's quite scary -- or beautiful, depending on how you look at it.
What? You didn't want the philosophical outlook? Shucks. My full name is Nicholas Montgomery Kirsch, and I was born August 3rd, 1978 in Memphis, Tennessee. I grew up there -- physically. I moved to Anchorage, Alaska when I was 13; Attended and completed Steller high school, and in January of 1996 I shipped myself (well, dad did) off to college at the University of Puget Sound. I graduated in 2000 with my head just a little more tilted than it used to be.
Currently I am working at Isilon Systems as an engineering manager and living in Seattle. It is fun; more importantly I am surrounded by intelligent people and I can feel myself growing. This is a period of immense growth and personal reflection in my life. I feel that every day is a new lesson filled with challenges and joys. This spot on the web is my attempt to share with the world the man that I am and hope to become.
Recently my world of one was joined by another - my wife, Eriko, now share the valleys and hills of life together.
And then, there were three - our little Jerry is a miracle. The glass is full - drink up!
Forgive, O Lord, my little jokes on Thee, and I'll forgive Thy great big joke on me.
